The 2nd UN Annual Forum on Business and Human Rights begins on 2 December in Geneva. The Forum brings together representatives from civil society, government and business to discuss key issues and work that has gone on over the past year to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Indigenous people’s rights are a special focus of this year’s event.
CORE, together with our US and European partner organisations ICAR and ECCJ will be releasing a new report at the Forum on access to judicial remedy for human rights violations by transnational business. The report is an analysis of the barriers that victims face when they attempt to pursue a case against a multinational company in an overseas court, and include recommendations for reform.
One of the report’s authors, Professor Gwynne Skinner will be speaking on the panel at a side event on access to remedy. The report will be out on Monday 2 December.
